Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between “Named Insured”, “First Named Insured” and “Additional Insured”?

Named insureds are those listed by name in the relevant block of the policy’s declaration page. Although the named insured is commonly one person, partnership, corporation or other entity with insurable interests, multiple names insured may be included.

First Named Insured is the first name listed on the policy declarations (front page of the policy). This insured acts as the legal agent for all named insureds in initiating cancellation, requesting policy changes or accepting any return premiums. The first named insured may also be responsible for payment of the premiums.

Additional insured is an entity to which a policy’s coverage is extended. An additional insured must be added to the policy prior to a claim being paid. There must be a relationship between the additional insured and the named insured. Being an additional insured on another’s policy does not eliminate the need for someone to have his/her own Commercial Liability policy.

Personal Insurance

We know that protecting you, your family and your personal belongings is your top priority. At Lassen, Marine & Webster, our personal insurance specialists work with you and our carriers to develop a customized insurance policy that protects your family, home, auto and other valuable possessions for a reasonable price.

The biggest investment most people will ever make is in their home. After making a sizable financial investment in your home it deserves a comprehensive homeowners plan to adequately protect it.

Although you may not own the home or apartment you are currently living in, its contents – from clothes to furniture - belong to you which is why it’s important they are adequately insured.

Protect yourself from the high risk of automobile, boat and RV liability by maintaining an adequate level of coverage for your particular situation. We have excellent policies available through reputable insurance companies and we will be happy to help pinpoint the coverages best suited to your needs.

Personal umbrella coverage is designed to give you additional liability protection above and beyond the limits on your home or auto policies. This protection kicks-in when any claim exceeds the limits already set by your determined insurance policies and protects you from potentially disparaging claims.

No matter what your stage of life, life insurance offers stability for your family’s financial future. Because everyone’s needs are different, it is best to discuss the proper amount of life insurance you need to purchase with a licensed agent. With health insurance you protect not only yourself, but your family in the event of a medical emergency that can potential be very costly.
